RBA 98th Annual Meeting, June 13, 2023
President Lori J. Bentley called the 98th Annual meeting to order. The 98th Annual RBA meeting was held at the Shenandoah Club.
President Bentley recognized RLF Chairman, Macel Janoschka, who announced the scholarship recipient, Tyler J. McNeil. Mr. McNeil will receive the James Kincanon Scholarship. Ms. Janoschka also announced this years grant recipients which included the Local Office on Aging and the Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley.
Lori Bentley presented a donation from the RBA to the RVPA in thanks for their assistance with the monthly luncheons. RVPA president Shannon Honaker accepted the donation. Ms. Bentley welcomed Sarah C. Jessee up to introduce T. Daniel “Bo” Frith, IV, the 2023 Young Lawyer of the Year. The 2023 Frank “Bo” Rogers Lifetime Achievement Award was then presented to Maryellen Goodlatte by Mark Feldmann.
Lori Bentley announced the RBA was the recipient of three Awards of Merit which will be presented at the Virginia State Bar meeting on June 16th. She then began the presentation of the Presidents Volunteer Service awards with a Lifetime Achievement Award, 4000 hours of service in a lifetime, to Henry Woodward. Ms. Bentley then read the list of Presidents Volunteer Service recipients for 2022.
Lori Bentley passed the RBA gavel to new president, Christen Church, who then recognized Lori for her service as president to the RBA. Lori took this opportunity to thank the members for support of the various service projects during the year. Thank you to the RVPA for assisting with check in.
