DESCRIPTION:Date/Time:\n\n\nDecember 14 \, 2021\nThe Shenandoah Club\nBuffet line begins at 12:00 noon; meeting begins at 12:25 p.m. A virtual option will be available.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Program:\n\n\nMonica Monday\, Esq.\, Gentry Locke\, will be the speaker. Ms. Monday will be informing our members about the impending transformation of Virginia’s appellate courts effective January 1\, 2022.  The Court of Appeals of Virginia will add six new judges and\, for the first time\, its jurisdiction will be expanded to provide an appeal of right in both criminal and civil cases.  She will provide us with an overview of the newly revised appellate rules for the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals\, and will address how these appellate changes will necessarily impact all trial practice in Virginia.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Board Meeting:\n\n\n10:45 a.m. Executive Committee 11:00 a.m. Board Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMemorial Resolution:\n\n\nThere will be a memorial resolution to honor Walter H. Peake\, III\, Esq. presented by Phillip V. Anderson\, Esq.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeeting Reservations: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Cost:\n\n\n$20.00; make check payable to Roanoke Bar Association\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Payment:\n\n\nPayment is expected at the door.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Parking:\n\n\nParking in the Shenandoah Club lot is for club members only. Parking is available at the Franklin Road parking lot adjacent to the Club.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Reservation #:\n\n\nPlease register below for the in-person luncheon.  For those attending virtually no reservation is needed. The link will open at 12:15 p.m.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Deadline:\n\n\nAll reservations and cancellations must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday\, December 9\, 2021. After the deadline you may send a substitute to avoid a cancellations penalty. All other cancellations after the deadline will be billed $20.00.\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is now closed.
