Glenn\, Esq.  Mr. Glenn was a founding member of present day firm Glenn\, Feldmann\, Darby and Goodlatte. He began practicing law in Roanoke in 1957 and worked continuously until his retirement in 2016. Mr. Glenn was a past president of the Roanoke Bar Association and a Life member. He was also a Roanoke Law Foundation Fellow\, Class of 2012. Mr. Glenn served as a member of the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners from 1982 to 1993 and as its President from 1993 to 2014\, where he participated in and supervised the preparation\, administration\, and grading of over 50\,000 individual bar exams. SUMMARY:Judicial Endorsement Meeting - March 13\, 2018
DESCRIPTION:Pursuant to Article XXVII of the Bylaws of the Roanoke Bar Association\, you are hereby notified that on Tuesday\, March 13\, at 1:30 p.m. at the Shenandoah Club\, a special meeting of the active membership of the Association will be held for the purpose of endorsing a candidate for the impending vacancy in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. \nOnly active members of the Association in good standing as of Monday\, March 12\, shall be permitted to participate in the balloting\, and any member of the Association who has participated or intends to participate in a meeting of another bar association for the same vacancy shall not be permitted to participate in the balloting. Please note that seventy-five (75) active members of the Association shall constitute a quorum\, which is required by the bylaws before the meeting can proceed. \nAny parties submitting themselves as candidates for this vacancy should refer to Article XXVII\, Section 2\, of the Roanoke Bar Association Bylaws for submission requirements: Those persons submitting themselves as candidates for endorsement shall file at least four (4) business days prior to the scheduled endorsement meeting with the secretary/treasurer at the address specified in the notice\, a resume of their qualifications to fill such vacancy\, which resume shall not exceed one page in length. The resume shall contain a certification made under oath and notarized that the candidate has not been publicly reprimanded\, nor had their license to practice law suspended or revoked by the Virginia State Bar or any other state bar or similar regulatory body of another state. In the event that a candidate has been so disciplined\, the candidate shall provide the date\, grounds and/or finding\, and the disposition of the same\, and any other information deemed relevant by the candidate\, which shall be reported to the Association at the meeting when nominations of the respective candidates are made. The secretary/treasurer may make a form available to candidates for use in complying with the requirements of this Section. Any candidate who fails to meet the requirements of this Section will not be considered for judicial endorsement by the Association. DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by the Roanoke Law Foundation\nOn Monday evening\, December 11\, 2017\, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm\, the Roanoke Law Foundation will sponsor the twelfth annual Santa at the Station\, a holiday party for children and their parents who are living in shelters in our area during the holiday season.  For this special event\, the children and their parents will be picked up and transported to the Virginia Museum of Transportation where they will experience an amazing holiday party.  The kids will enjoyed unlimited use of the museum as well as entertainment. They will be treated to their favorite party foods and have their photos taken with Santa Claus. They will visit Santa’s Workshop where they will create holiday arts and crafts\, and Santa’s Sack where they can select a small\, special gift to wrap and give to their parents this holiday season. He counsels a wide variety of clients including high net worth individuals and families\, institutional fiduciaries\, family offices\, and charitable entities. Farhad serves on the Board of Directors of the Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia\, a mutual property and casualty insurance company\, and the Board of Directors of a privately held family business based in Raleigh\, North Carolina. \nFarhad is a 1989 graduate of the University of Virginia and a 1992 graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law.
