Recently\, some lawyers have chosen to waive this opportunity. As is true of an opening statement at trial\, the presentations in the opening session of a mediation very much impact how the mediation will proceed. Much can be gained by an effective presentation; yet there may be some risk. This course will be presented by the Hon. J. Michael Gamble (Ret.) and the Hon. Michael T. Garrett (Ret.)  from The McCammon Group. This 2-hr CLE provides the ethical and strategic issues that should be considered in deciding “To Present or Not to Present.”\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Cost:\n\n\nThere is no charge for RBA members to attend but registration is required. Bernard Goodwyn\, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Chief Justice Goodwyn graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia’s School of Law in 1986. Prior to his appointment to the bench\, Goodwyn practiced law at the law firm of Willcox & Savage. On October 10\, 2007\, Goodwyn was appointed to the Supreme Court of Virginia by Governor Tim Kaine. DESCRIPTION:The Senior Shine and Dine returns for the fourth year!  \nImagine graduating from high school and your family not having the financial means to celebrate this milestone.  Imagine further that you are homeless\, and you may not even have a family.  Many students graduating from Patrick Henry and William Fleming High Schools are in this situation. these students have accomplished so much yet often have no one able to celebrate their graduation. \nThe RBA will provided the decorations\, the catering and assist as the wait staff to provide a special day for these seniors and their guests.  On April 23\, 2025\, a room at Greene Memorial Church will be transformed into a happy and special place to celebrate and on April 24\, 2025\, members of the RBA will serve a catered meal and provide cleanup. \nVolunteer registration is now closed. The day will include live music\, a catered lunch of  hamburgers\, hot dogs\, and barbecue\, a bounce house\, a dunk booth\, card games\, an afternoon Kickball Tournament\, and a free shirt or hat for all of those attending and more.\nOur younger guests will be treated to a variety of activities including hiking\, creek wading\, a scavenger hunt\, rock wall crawl\, and other surprises under the direction of trained adult camp staff. \nFor those choosing to play in the kickball tournament\, you can register with or without a whole team. We will organize teams out of any unaffiliated registrants. If your team is organized in advance\, please name your team organizer on the registration form.
