(Tax) (see biography below)\nFor more information\, see the RVEPC Notice\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLE Credit:\n\nApproved for 1.0 hours of CLE (1.0 ethics)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCost:\n\nThe 1-hour CLE session is being offered through a special arrangement with the RVEPC at no cost to RBA members\, representing 1 hour of the 4 hours of free CLE included in RBA membership.  RBA members are invited to stay for the social hour and dinner.  If you are also a member of the RVEPC\, the cost is $30.00; if not\, the guest fee is $35.00.  Payment is expected at the door; the RVEPC is not able to invoice RBA members.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration:\n\nRegistration will be handled by the RVEPC.  To register\, send an email to Brownie Polly by 4:00 p.m. on Friday\, October 3\, 2014.  Please specify which events you will attend (CLE\, social hour\, dinner).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCancellation:\n\nTo cancel\, send an email to Brownie Polly no later than 12:00 noon on Monday\, October 6. Cancellations after this date/time will be billed a $30.00 cancellation fee for any social hour/dinner reservations.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBiography:\n\nHoward M. Zaritsky is an attorney who consults exclusively with other attorneys and estate planning professionals and serves as an expert witness on estate planning and administration and related tax issues.  He was for 20 years a partner in the Fairfax\, Virginia\, law firm of Zaritsky & Zaritsky\, where his practice was limited to estate planning and administration and related tax matters.  Before that\, he was for eight years a legislation attorney for the Congressional Research Service\, where his responsibilities included advising members of congress and committee staff on tax matters.  He has been a lecturer at most major tax and estate planning institutes\, including the University of Miami (Heckerling) Estate Planning Institute\, where he is a member of the advisory committee.  He is the author or co-author of over 200 articles\, three Tax Management Portfolios\, and a dozen treatises\, including: Tax Planning for Family Wealth Transfers at Death\, Tax Planning for Family Wealth Transfers During Life\, and Tax Planning With Life Insurance (with Stephan Leimberg) (all published by Thomson-Reuters/WG&L).  He is tax editor of Probate Practice Reporter\, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the American College of Tax Counsel and a former Chair of the Virginia Bar Association Section on Wills\, Trusts & Estates.  He lives on a farm with his wife and several groundhogs\, near the thriving metropolis of Rapidan\, Virginia.  See www.howardzaritsky.com.
