RBA members are invited to stay for the social hour\, dinner and program. If you are also a member of the RVEPC\, the cost is $30.00; if not\, the guest fee is $35.00. SUMMARY:Judicial Endorsement Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Pursuant to Article XXVII of the Bylaws of the Roanoke Bar Association\, you are hereby notified that on Tuesday\, November 10\, at 1:30 p.m. at the Shenandoah Club\, a special meeting of the active membership of the Association will be held for the purpose of endorsing candidates for the upcoming vacancy in the Circuit Court. \nOnly active members of the Association in good standing as of Monday\, November 9\, shall be permitted to participate in the balloting\, and any member of the Association who has participated or intends to participate in a meeting of another bar association for the same vacancy shall not be permitted to participate in the balloting.  Please note that seventy-five (75) active members of the Association shall constitute a quorum\, which is required by the bylaws before the meeting can proceed. \nAny parties submitting themselves as candidates for this vacancy should refer to Article XXVII\, Section 2\, of the Roanoke Bar Association Bylaws for submission requirements:  Those persons submitting themselves as candidates for endorsement shall file at least four (4) business days prior to the scheduled endorsement meeting with the secretary/treasurer at the address specified in the notice\, a resume of their qualifications to fill such vacancy\, which resume shall not exceed one page in length. The resume shall contain a certification made under oath and notarized that the candidate has not been publicly reprimanded\, nor had their license to practice law suspended or revoked by the Virginia State Bar or any other state bar or similar regulatory body of another state. In the event that a candidate has been so disciplined\, the candidate shall provide the date\, grounds and/or finding\, and the disposition of the same\, and any other information deemed relevant by the candidate\, which shall be reported to the Association at the meeting when nominations of the respective candidates are made. The secretary/treasurer may make a form available to candidates for use in complying with the requirements of this Section. Any candidate who fails to meet the requirements of this Section will not be considered for judicial endorsement by the Association.  Judicial Endorsement Certification Form \nAny candidate desiring to utilize the RBA membership database for mailing labels or endorsement letter merges should complete the request form and send it to the Executive Director at roanokebar@earthlink.net no later than 12:00 noon on Tuesday\, October 20\, in order to be processed.  The fee for this service is detailed in the request form.
