SUMMARY:Rule of Law 2019
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed to present the Rule of Law Project  in the Civics classes of all the Roanoke Valley’s Middle Schools. If you have presented the Rule of Law Project before\, you know that it is a worthwhile and often eye-opening experience. \nThe Rule of Law Project is a program developed by the Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia Law Foundation to encourage learning about the valuable role the Rule of Law plays in American Society by bringing Judges and Lawyers into Middle School Civics Classrooms and have these professional interacts with the students.  The program is currently administered by the Center for Teaching the Rule of Law.  This is the 12th year the project has been sponsored in the Roanoke Valley by our Bar Associations. \nRegistration for Rule of Law Day in Roanoke County on December 18 and 19 has begun. The signup link is https://signup.com/go/aTEusDE . \nThere are twenty-one classes requiring volunteers on December 18 (Cave Spring and Northside) or 19 (Hidden Valley and Glenvar).  The William Byrd classes have volunteers. \nWe need at least one volunteer per class.  Volunteers who wish to team up may do so — Just have one volunteer sign-up and then include the name of the teaching partners in the space provided on the registration form. \nSalem and Roanoke City will be holding Rule of Law Days in the Spring of 2020.
