James N. Kincanon Scholarship

The James N. Kincanon Scholarship was established by the Roanoke Law Foundation (formerly known as the Roanoke Bar Association Foundation) in 1997 in honor of James N. Kincanon, Esq., in recognition of his fifty years of service as Secretary-Treasurer of the RBA. It is now administered by the Roanoke Law Foundation.

The scholarship is available to students who demonstrate diligence in and commitment to their studies, academic excellence and an interest in the pursuit of law.

Applicants must be a resident of the City of Roanoke, the City of Salem, or the County of Roanoke, or a graduate of a high school located in those jurisdictions. Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 during college or law school and must be accepted, or expect to be accepted prior to the 2024 fall semester, in an accredited law school.

Applications for the 2025 Scholarships will be accepted beginning January 1, 2025, and are available from the Roanoke Law Foundation, Virginia colleges and Virginia law schools.  Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2025.

Jane S. Glenn Scholarship

The Jane S. Glenn Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in November, 2007, in memory of Jane S. Glenn, an outstanding member of the Association who passed away at the early age of 50 on November 20, 2007.  Contributions in memory of Jane are being accepted by the Foundation and must be accompanied by a Pledge Form.

Applicants must be accepted, or expect to be accepted, in an accredited law school in the Commonwealth of Virginia and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.  Applicants must be a resident of the City of Roanoke, the City of Salem, or the County of Roanoke, or a graduate of a high school located in those jurisdictions.

Applications for the 2024 Scholarships will be accepted beginning January 1, 2024, and are available from the Roanoke Law Foundation, Virginia colleges and Virginia law schools.  Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2024.
