CLE Credit: Approved for 1.0 hours of CLE (0.0 ethics)
Cost: The 1-hour CLE session is being offered through a special arrangement with the Roanoke Valley Estate Planning Council (RVEPC) at no cost to RBA members, representing 1 hour of the 4 hours of free CLE included in RBA membership.  RBA members are invited to stay for the social hour, dinner and program.  For those who are not members of the RVEPC, the cost for the social hour and dinner is $35.00.   Payment is expected at the door; the RVEPC is not able to invoice RBA members.

Registration for CLE only will be handled by the RBA.

Cancellation: To cancel, send an email to Manley Aylor at manly.aylor@nm.com no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, October 31, 2016.  Cancellations after this date/time will be billed a $35.00 cancellation fee for any social hour/dinner reservations.
Biography:

Michele A. McKinnon is a Partner in the Richmond, Virginia office of McGuireWoods LLP and is a member of its Private Wealth Services Group and Chair of its Nonprofit and Tax-Exempt Organizations Industry team.  With over 30 years of experience, she represents many public charities, major colleges and universities, supporting organizations, private foundations, and charitable trusts in all aspects of compliance with the federal tax laws, as well as with governance, endowment, and investment matters.  Her work also includes planned giving advice and implementation for individuals as well as charitable organizations and educational institutions, estate planning, and estate and trust administration.

She is a Fellow in the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel and previously served as its Virginia State Chair and is the Vice Chair of its Charitable Planning and Exempt Organizations Committee.  She was selected for inclusion in America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Wealth Management, Chambers USA (2013-2016) and The Best Lawyers in America (2007-2016).  She was named a “Virginia Super Lawyer” for Non-Profit, Tax, and Estate Planning & Probate (2006, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016).  She lectures and writes regularly including presentations for ACTEC, ALI-ABA, and Virginia CLE.

Ms. McKinnon received her B.A. degree from the University of Virginia (1982), her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond (1985), and her LL.M. in taxation from the College of William and Mary (1992).
